Working with our parent company, Intersnack, we have put together a number of principles which guide our good practice in sustainability.
One of the initiatives KP has become a part of to help fulfil this good practice, is the supporting of cashew farmers in Africa, to help them improve their incomes and create new jobs in nut processing. Together with our partners, we’re focusing on improving the efficiency of nut processing, the quantity of jobs available and improving the working and living quality of life for the farmers.
Adding to the African cashew nut initiative is connecting our suppliers together. So by the farmer being connected with the local processor, who then sells directly to us, we are all closely linked together and we are therefore able to monitor the supply chain closely to ensure no bad practice is a part of our nut production.
This project has a broadly reaching impact supporting cashew production in the countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Mozambique.
Our partners include GIZ (German Cooperation), The Sustainable Trade Initiative, African Cashew Initiative and other partners from the international private sector.
